What is The Supper Club?
The Supper Club is Discovery Bay's small business networking and learning platform.
Every month, we invite someone from the business world to speak on a topic, which our NetworkDB members have identified as useful to them. The format is simple - we meet for networking and a glass of something chilled, are seated for hors d'oeuvres, listen to the speaker for around 45 minutes then enjoy the rest of the evening whilst discussing the topic in more depth over supper.
The brief to the speaker is equally as simple - we ask them to give us some practical examples, tips and tricks that attendees can use immediately to enhance their business offering.
Past speakers include Lara Jefferies from PLUG PR who visited to tell us how to do our own PR, Kay Ross from Kay Ross Marketing who came to share with us what marketing tricks we shouldn't live without and James Alba-Duignan from Performance Matters took us through some essential sales skills.
Topics coming up include a deeper look into Personality and Behaviour and how flexing your style can help you achieve better results in business and a tax accountant will finally visit DB to advise on what we should and shouldn't be paying out for in the dreaded tax bill.
